My design thoughts: I want to have a couple templates that I can use to make a little money as a side business on my online shop. This is an example of something I'd like to put on my shop. I wanted this graduation announcement to be simple, feminine and rustic. I chose the background to give the announcement some texture and applied what we'd learned with the business cards to format the announcement (a square on one side and text on the other). Overall, I think the announcement turned out pretty well.
Photoshop tools used: First I imported the background and made some rectangles to use as place holders for the pictures.
Then I created a separate Photoshop document to create the banner. I used the pen tool and polygon tool to make the rope and triangle banner pieces. I had to transform the triangles to get them to look like they were hanging on the rope. Then I used the text tool (and transform tool again) to get the "2017" to look like it was written on the triangles. After I got the banner looking how I wanted, I flattened the image and imported in into the original document. I used a quick mask to add the banner onto the background and pictures.
I copy and pasted pictures into the rectangles. Added the rest of the text... and wah-lah!
